Autoclave Trolley Design and Manufacture

Client challenge

A manufacturing operation required a bespoke trolley to handle components associated with an autoclave process.

The equipment needed to fit the available operating space, support the required load and allow safe and practical movement during loading and unloading.

Design requirements
  • Compatibility with the available operating space
  • Support for the required component load
  • Practical loading and unloading
  • Controlled movement within the manufacturing environment
  • Compatibility with the autoclave-related operation
  • Practical manufacture and fabrication
CITA solution

CITA Engineering developed the trolley concept and completed the mechanical and structural design using SolidWorks 3D modelling.

The work included load-path assessment, component arrangement, production drawings, design-for-manufacture review and fabrication support.

The final design was developed around the client's handling requirements and the constraints of the manufacturing environment.

Engineering scope
  • Trolley concept development
  • Mechanical design
  • Structural design
  • SolidWorks 3D CAD modelling
  • Load-path assessment
  • Component arrangement
  • Production drawings
  • Design-for-manufacture review
  • Fabrication support
Design development

The trolley design was developed around the client's handling requirements, available operating space and practical manufacturing constraints.
