Ghana / HybridClosed on 31 July 2026
Role overview

About this role.

Support structural design, assessment and verification across infrastructure, marine, energy and industrial-asset projects.

The Structural Engineer role supports the analysis, design and verification of structures and equipment-support systems across CITA Engineering's project portfolio.

The role covers both new-build and existing-asset scopes, including structural assessment, modifications, equipment supports, modular structures, lifting-related engineering and other project-specific structural requirements.

The engineer would work closely with mechanical and project engineering disciplines to develop practical solutions that consider loading, fabrication, installation, maintainability and the condition of existing assets.

Key responsibilities

Produce structural calculations, engineering assessments and technical reports.
Develop and check structural design solutions for new-build and modification scopes.
Assess existing structures and equipment-support systems for proposed loads or changes.
Support finite element analysis and other appropriate structural-analysis methods.
Define realistic design loads, load combinations, boundary conditions and acceptance criteria.
Support structural verification and independent engineering-review activities.
Review structural drawings, fabrication information and supplier documentation.
Support brownfield modification studies and life-extension assessments.
Coordinate structural interfaces with mechanical, piping, equipment and project engineering teams.
Consider fabrication, transportation, lifting, installation and access requirements during design development.
Identify technical risks, assumptions and required design actions.
Contribute to clear, traceable engineering documentation and design records.

Experience & capabilities

Sound understanding of structural engineering principles.
Experience producing or reviewing structural calculations and engineering reports.
Ability to interpret structural drawings and technical documentation.
Understanding of steel structures, equipment-support systems and engineering load paths.
Familiarity with analysis methods appropriate to industrial and infrastructure structures.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Strong technical communication and problem-solving skills.
Practical awareness of fabrication and installation constraints.

Desirable experience

Experience with finite element analysis.
Exposure to offshore, marine, industrial or energy-sector structures.
Experience assessing existing or brownfield structures.
Exposure to lifting, transportation or modular-structure engineering.

Working with CITA Engineering
