About this role.

Develop broad engineering and project-delivery capability while supporting live multidisciplinary scopes under experienced technical mentors.

The Graduate Project Engineer role is intended to provide early-career engineers with practical exposure to engineering consultancy and project delivery.

Working alongside experienced engineers, the graduate would support planning, technical coordination, engineering documentation and client-facing project activities across CITA Engineering's assurance, design and embedded-support services.

The role is designed to develop an understanding of how engineering decisions move from technical requirements through design, review, fabrication, construction and operational support.

Key responsibilities

Support project planning, technical coordination and engineering documentation.
Assist engineers with the preparation of technical notes, reports, registers and project deliverables.
Support multidisciplinary coordination between engineering disciplines.
Assist with tracking technical actions, deliverables and project interfaces.
Participate in engineering reviews and project meetings.
Support the review and organisation of drawings, calculations, specifications and supplier documentation.
Assist with project reporting and progress updates.
Develop understanding of engineering assurance and technical-governance processes.
Build practical awareness of fabrication, installation, commissioning and operational considerations.
Work with mentors to develop technical, commercial and professional capability.
Follow CITA Engineering's quality and document-control requirements.
Take increasing responsibility for project tasks as competence develops.

Experience & capabilities

An engineering or closely related technical educational background appropriate to the role.
Strong interest in engineering consultancy and project delivery.
Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving ability.
Clear written and verbal communication.
Ability to organise information and manage assigned tasks.
Interest in multidisciplinary engineering projects.
Willingness to learn from experienced engineers and take responsibility for personal development.
Professional, collaborative and detail-focused approach.

Desirable experience

Industrial placement, internship or project experience.
Exposure to engineering drawings, calculations or technical documentation.
Interest in energy, infrastructure, industrial or asset-integrity projects.
Evidence of teamwork through academic, professional or extracurricular projects.

Working with CITA Engineering

CITA Engineering works across independent engineering assurance, engineering design and project delivery, and embedded engineering support.
